Xbox 2 to be revealed at E3 after fans decode secret messages
MICROSOFT has confirmed its 2019 E3 briefing is going to contain the first real information about the next-generation Xbox.
Three promotional images had parts of a code hidden in the background which fans swiftly put together.
The three fragments added up to a sequence representing the colour 'Scarlet' on a web-page.
This might not seem too significant unless you know that the next Xboxes are being developed under the code-name Scarlett.
This fact has never been officially confirmed by Microsoft, but it has been widely reported from a variety of sources.
That has now changed, with Microsoft confirming, , the nature of the Scarlet teaser.
We are pretty confident that the AMD chips at the heart of the new Xbox are very similar to those at the heart of the PS5, though presumably with a different "special sauce" to that being applied to the PlayStation's brains.
The two consoles are likely to go head to head in 2020, experts believe.
The E3 festivities are kicking off in Los Angeles, with Microsoft's briefing on Sunday expected to bring news of their cloud gaming technology as well.
Sony aren't attending this year, however, so don't hold your breath for PS5 updates.
