Budget OnePlus 7 phone with 48MP camera to launch next week – and it’ll only set you back £500
ONEPLUS has set a release date for its latest budget smartphone that will take on the iPhone XR.
Out next week, the plucky OnePlus 7 comes loaded with a dual-lens rear camera – and it'll only cost you £499.
The gadget hits shelves on June 4, two weeks after the release of its bigger brother, the OnePlus 7 Pro.
Both were announced by OnePlus at the same time, but the Chinese startup released its pricier new mobile first.
The 7 Pro comes with a whopping 6.67-inch screen, triple rear camera setup and a funky pop-up selfie camera – though it's OnePlus's most expensive gizmo to date, costing up to £799 for all the bells and whistles.
The 7 is a little more modest in its offering.
It's essentially a beefed up version of last year's OnePlus 6T, though you still get a lot of bang for your buck.
The handset's got a teardrop-style notch for the selfie camera, and a handsome 6.41-inch display.
It boasts the latest flagship Qualcomm chipset, the Snapdragon 855, as well as a quicker fingerprint sensor.
Unfortunately, like the 7 Pro, the 7 doesn't have wireless charging, a feature we really expect to see on all modern flagships.
The phone starts at £499 for 128GB of storage and 6GB of RAM.
This rises to £549 for 256GB of storage and 8GB of RAM.
To start with, it'll only be available in the Mirror Grey colour, with plans to add more later on.
It'll be available from OnePlus's website, as well as EE and high street stores like John Lewis.
