Uber will soon BAN customers who are rude, drink alcohol or leave rubbish in their US cabs – and the rules could be coming to the UK
UBER is going to start banning customers who receive low ratings in its US cabs.
The company has said it will have to "develop a significantly below average rating" for this to be possible.
The tech taxi firm has been banning drivers who receive very low ratings for a while but now it is turning the tables.
Uber's app will soon start sending its US users tips if it starts to look like they're getting bad ratings.
These tips include being polite, not asking drivers to speed and not leaving litter behind in the car.
Users will get several opportunities to improve their behaviour before they are banned for good.
"While we expect only a small number of riders to ultimately be impacted by ratings-based deactivations, it's the right thing to do."
Uber wrote in its community guidelines: "Any behavior involving violence, sexual misconduct, harassment, discrimination, or illegal activity while using the Uber apps can result in the immediate loss of access.
"Additionally, when law enforcement is involved, we will cooperate with their investigation."
Uber is now launching an education campaign to try and teach everyone about the new guidelines and make sure that they are followed.
The UK Uber guidelines have not been updated yet but could be in the future as often new Uber features are trialled in the US first.
In other news, Uber has added a "Quiet Mode" feature to its US app so users can request silence.
An Uber driver was once suspended after secretly livestreaming female passengers so the internet could rate their looks.
But the company has been working hard to improve its safety and even created tech that could detect car crashes.
