HUAWEI has raised security concerns after a video emerged that allegedly demonstrates just how powerful its latest phone's zoom feature is.
The Huawei P30 Pro smartphone supports up to 50x digital optical zoom with its camera lenses with no tripod attached.
A viral video, which was by political science professor Bessma Momani and is being attributed to Ben Lai and Singapore news website , was allegedly filmed on the latest Huawei P30 Pro smartphone.
It demonstrates how the phone can effortlessly zoom in from high up in a building to children down below who are playing a board game.
The game and the children can be seen very clearly on the screen of the device.
Momani described the feature in her tweet as "a privacy and surveillance nightmare" and other users have commented to describe the phone as a portable telescope and question how it could easily be used to invade the privacy of unsuspecting people.
Some people are sceptical about the video and think it could be fake.
However, Huawei has previously demonstrated just how power the 50x optical zoom feature is and many online review videos do show how the phone can view far away objects in very good quality.
Huawei is yet to comment on whether the feature poses a security issue.
The P30 Pro costs £899 for 128GB and £1,099 for 512GB.
New Huawei phone looks just like an iPhone but only costs £329 – and has an even bigger camera.
