Spotify offer gets you a FREE Google Home Mini smart speaker worth £50 if you have ‘family’ account

This is a cracking deal that'll save you serious cash

SPOTIFY has launched a new offer that nets Family account holders a free Google Home Mini.

The smart speaker is powered by the voice-controlled Google Assistant, and is available to both new and existing Spotify customers.

All you need to do is make sure you're signed up to a Spotify Family plan.

Spotify Family gives access to Spotify Premium for up to six people for £14.99 a month.

That's £5 more than the usual price of £9.99, but normally six membership would cost nearly £60 – so it's a hefty saving.

The caveat is that the people need to reside at the same address, which may be frustrating for parents with children who have moved away from home.

Each family member gets their own unique Premium account.

And if they have Spotify already, they'll get to keep their saved music, playlists and recommendations.

You'll get one single bill, so you'll need to manage splitting it up on your own.

Sadly, the Google Home Mini offer is time-limited, so don't wait too long or you might miss out.

You'll need to claim the offer before May 14, 2019, and then redeem the device itself by May 24, 2019.

What is the Google Home Mini?

It's a £49 smart speaker powered by Google's know-it-all Google Assistant.

Google Assistant is a virtual helper that you control using your voice.

She (or he, if you change the voice) can help you with everyday tasks like finding out about the news or weather.

It'll set reminders and timers, let you check your Google calendar, play music, and even make hands-free calls.

All you need to do is say "OK Google" or "Hey Google" out loud, and then issue a command.

And if you have compatible smart home gadgets (like a Philips Hue Lightbulb or Nest Thermostat) then you'll be able to control those using the Home Mini too.
