Samsung Galaxy S10 5G Edition release date – when is it out?

Samsung announced four phone models at the Samsung Unpacked event on February 20, 2019.

The Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10+ and Galaxy S10e are all available to pre-order from February.

And they'll all start shipping to customers from March 8, 2019.

But the Galaxy S10 5G Edition won't ship until "early summer", according to Samsung.

Samsung Galaxy S10 5G Edition specs and features revealed

As the name suggests, the Galaxy S10 5G Edition is Samsung's first proper 5G smartphone.

That means it will be able to connect to super-fast 5G phone networks when they launch in the UK this year.

Without a 5G phone, you won't be able to benefit from the nippy 5G speeds – so Samsung is hoping to capitalise on your desire for buttery smooth Netflix streaming.

The Galaxy S10 5G Edition also has a bigger 6.7-inch screen than even the Galaxy S10+ (6.4 inches), and comes with a built-in 3D depth-sensing camera.

The phone ships with 8GB of RAM on board, as well as a generous 256GB of storage.

The battery capacity has been boosted (likely to support the larger display) to 4,500mAh, up from 3,400mAh on the Galaxy S10.

And the phone is also thicker than the Galaxy S10+ by about 0.14mm, and heavier by about 23 grams (at 198 grams). For contrast, the iPhone XS Max weighs 208 grams.

Samsung Galaxy S10 5G Edition price – how much will it cost?

It's not clear exactly how much the Samsung Galaxy S10 5G Edition will cost yet.

It's possible we won't find out until much closer to the launch date.

However, it's likely that the 5G version will be the most expensive model in the Galaxy S10 line-up.

Previous analyst estimates have suggested that Galaxy S10 pricing will cap out at around £1,399, so something in that region is a safe bet.

We'd be very surprised if Samsung sold the phone for below £1,000.
