You can now talk to your LOO with world’s first Amazon Alexa toilet – meet the Kohler Numi 2.0 from CES 2019
Your trips to the bog will never be the same again
YOUR next big bathroom upgrade could include a smart toilet that talks to you.
Home brand Kohler has created a toilet powered by Alexa, Amazon's popular voice-controlled digital assistant.
It's called the Numi 2.0 Intelligent Toilet, and is actually an upgrade on the first-generation smart bog.
The Numi toilet comes with loads of useful perks, including a heated seat to keep your rear warm in the winter months.
But it also has personalised cleansing and drier functions, built-in speakers, and comes with a promise of "exceptional water efficiency".
The big upgrade for this year – as announced at the CES 2019 tech show in Las Vegas this week – is a virtual helper.
This comes in the form of Amazon's Alexa.
Alexa originally launched on Amazon Echo devices, telling you about the news or weather, playing music or radio, and evening ordering Domino's pizzas and Uber pick-ups.
But Alexa has since expanded into a wide range of gadgets, including the Numi toilet.
You can use Alexa to control the Numi, or use her like a normal Echo speaker too.
"Amazon Alexa built into the product provides simple voice control of Numi's features and access to tens of thousands of skills, as well as a seamless integration of voice control into the bathroom," Kohler explained.
Kohler has also upgraded the lighting features, moving from static colours to "dynamic and interactive" ambient and surround lighting.
There's also a new set of more powerful speakers that promises a "fully-immersive" loo experience.
