Apple fans FURIOUS after receiving £770 iPad Pros that are BENT
A mob of angry fans has taken to Twitter
APPLE fans are fuming after finding their brand new iPad Pros are bent.
Some claim the £770 device came warped straight out of the package, while others say the kink appeared within days of purchase.
Images posted to social media show a small bend in people’s devices that is clearly visible to the naked eye.
Furious buyers took to Twitter to vent their frustrations.
One user said: “Got my 12.9 inch iPad Pro 6 weeks ago. Have never taken it out of its case. Never taken it out of our house. Never bumped it. Today I noticed it is bent. Went to Apple, not covered under warranty. Can buy a replacement for $999. What a joke.”
Another wrote: “I’ve had 3 2018 iPad Pro 12.9 inch’s all bent. The first one the store tried to refuse to replace it because they said it was accidental damage, should have seen there face when the replacement unit was bent then they ordered me another one…. Also bent.”
Following weeks of hearsay, Apple has finally responded to the volley of abuse – but the company’s pitiful excuse has merely stirred up more trouble.
The company confirmed that some of the tablets are leaving its factories with a “very slight bend in the aluminium chassis.”
Apple claimed the bend is a normal side effect of the manufacturing process and shouldn’t impact performance.
The fault is believed to have impacted a wad of Apple’s latest tablets – though the exact number remains unclear.
And Apple fans weren’t happy with the company’s explanation.
On Twitter, one user said: “I honestly can’t f***ing believe Apple thinks a bent device out of the box is normal. The new iPad Pro bends way too easily, and they won’t do s**t about it?”
Another tweeted: “Slightly bent iPad Pro out of the box not being a defect is ridiculous. If it is a result of the manufacturing process, change the manufacturing process.”
This is not the first time Apple has run into trouble with bending gadgets.
The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6S were the subjects of the famous 2014 “bendgate”, in which millions of handsets warped or cracked.
It is believed that a manufacturing issue with the gadgets’ casing caused the problem.
