Steam Winter Sale starts on Thursday with thousands of PC games going cheap
Sale kicks off on Thursday afternoon, and runs until January 3
STEAM'S sales throughout the year are always a good chance to grab armfuls of PC games at bargain prices -- and the Winter Sale is the biggest of the lot.
This year it kicks off on Thursday, December 20 at 4.55 p.m. UK time and runs for just over two weeks, ending in the new year.
We're hoping that this sale might see the return of Flash Deals, ultra-short-term offers that see even bigger savings on certain titles for brief windows during the sale.
If the Steam Hallowe'en Sale is anything to go by, then we're in for a whole host of bargains.
What are the best deals?
That we don't know yet -- the specific discounts aren't revealed until the sale actually kicks off, and then they can change on a daily basis.
Check back on Thursday and we'll let you know what's worth buying as soon as the information drops.
Gaming company Valve launched Steam in 2004, and it now has the biggest catalogue of games to buy and download of any online site.
It also hosts forums for the games it sells, as well as offering a place for user reviews.
It now has some serious competition from the likes of Epic Games and Discord as other companies try to muscle in on the PC gaming space.
