DAUNTLESS is coming to consoles -- and it's PC release is going to be exclusively via the Epic Games store for PC, developer Phoenix Labs has confirmed.
The Monster Hunter inspired action RPG is already fully playable in open beta on PC pits players as Slayers against huge Behemoths in a post-apocalyptic world.
It is inspired by smash hits such as the Monster Hunter franchise, action RPGs such as Torchlight and Diablo, as well more recent games such as Dark Souls.
The full PC, PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game will be released in April 2019, and are all expected to be free to play, with development funded by players paying for cosmetic upgrades and temporary boosts.
It was first revealed back in 2016 as a PC-only game, and has been in testing since early 2017.
Feedback saw them remove plans to add purchasble loot boxes to the game in favour of a more transparent item store.
A release date has not been confirmed for the Nintendo Switch version of the game, though Phoenix Labs has said they hope to release it in 2019 at some point.
The plan is for all platforms to have cross play too.

Phoenix Labs "One Dauntless" plan means that not only will players on all platforms be able to play with each other, but you will also be able to carry on a game you have started on any platform on any of the others.
This is finally possible after Sony backed down earlier this year, and said it was willing to allow PS4 games to integrate across platforms after years of insisting this would compromise the quality of games for PlayStation fans.
