If you just want to jump into competitive multiplayer modes but don't care about the co-op Zombies modes, this is the deal for you
IF you haven't picked up Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 yet, now's your chance to grab it on the cheap - for PC, at least.
Activision has released an online-only deal via Battle.net that gets you the new Battle Edition of the game for £26.99.
It has all the competitive multiplayer modes from the full games, including Blackout, but doesn't have the co-op Zombies modes.
It's going to be on sale through Christmas and into the New Year, but will go up to £34.99 on January 7.
The one downside is that currently this is only available via the Battle.Net store for PCs, and there is no news of a console release.
If you get the cheap edition and decide you actually want Zombies after all, you'll be able to upgrade by paying the difference in price between the Battle Edition and Standard Edition.
The co-op Zombies 'experiences' included in the game at launch were IX, Voyage of Despair, and Blood of the Dead, and were the closest the game got to a single-player campaign after it ditched any true singe-player mode in favour of the epic free-for-all that is Blackout.
If you're yet to grab the shooter but want to dive in to the full game, or just want to play on console, there are still some great Black Ops IV deals out there for you to check out.
