SONY has revealed the 20 games that will come installed on the PlayStation Classic, which is due in stores in time for Christmas.
While the list includes some all-time greats, it is only suitable for those over 18 thanks to the inclusion of games such as the original Grand Theft Auto.
This will be bad news for families hoping to introduce their kids to the joys of the games they grew up on.
Games that earn it that rating include the horror game Resident Evil Director's Cut, stealth-action classic Metal Gear Sold and car-crashing combat game Twisted Metal.
This means that games such as Rayman, Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee, Super Puzzle Fighter and Final Fantasy VII may well be out of reach too.
A number of more family-friendly fan favourites are also missing from the console, with the lack of games such as Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, Wipeout, Digimon being lamented by PlayStation fans on Twitter.
What is the PlayStation Classic?
It's a mini version of the original PlayStation, coming with two wired controllers and 20 games.
The Sony PlayStation Classic will be released worldwide on Monday, December 3, 2018.
The console will include two original controllers as well as a HDMI socket however gamers will have to supply their own compatible USB AC adaptor.
It serves as Sony's first attempt to release a mini retro console, following in the footsteps of Nintendo who have achieved great success with the NES Classic Mini and a SNES Classic Mini.
The miniature console will be approximately 45% smaller than the original grey PlayStation console.
You can see the full list of available games here.
Also missing are other kid-friendly platform-defining titles such as Crash Bandicoot and Spyro the Dragon, or any sports games of the era.
It is not clear if the PlayStation classic has any built-in parental controls that might bring in some limits on what games children left with the console can load.

Others were also disappointed by games which are being released on the console in Japan but not in the UK or US.
Those in Japan will get to play Arc the Lad, Arc the Lad 2, Armored Core, Gradius Giden, XI and Parasite Eve.
Talking about the UK and US list, fans on Twitter derided the selection, with many urging Nintendo to exploit the disappointment by revealing the long-rumoured N64 classic.
