FORTNITE'S Fall Skirmish Finals were marred by a technical glitch that saw one of the game's top players eliminated by a glitch with his glider.
Nate Hill, whose winnings of £253,842 ($325,825) playing Fortnite this year make him the fourth-highest earning player in the world, was playing a Duos match at Twitchcon when the glitch struck.
He and his partner Funkbomb jumped off a ramp into one of the desert ravines, hoping to redeploy their gliders as they did so.
As seen first on Funkbomb's stream above, Hill's glider never actually deployed, despite it appearing to have done for him.
While the game had registered him as being on the bridge across the ravine, his PC had him safely gliding towards the ravine bottom.
As the fall kills him he can be seen jumping out of his chair and uttering a stream of expletives.
Despite that, Funkbomb carried on alone and finished second that round, earning them both points.
The pair ended up finishing second overall by a mere five points to Cloakzy and Tfue.
The difference between first and second-place finishes was worth £113,000 ($145,000)
