KANYE West pitched an 'iPlane' to President Donald Trump on Thursday, when the two men sat down for a surreal meeting at the White House.

West claimed that the hydrogen-powered "iPlane One" would replace the president's Air Force One, although it turns out that the American rapper stole his image of the plane from a 2012 university project.

"We're gonna have Apple, an American company, work on this plane," Kanye West proudly explained to President Trump and a packed Oval Office.

He used his iPhone X to show Trump and Jared Kushner an image of a futuristic aircraft, which looks like something you might see on Star Trek.

But despite presenting the unusual plane as if it were his own idea, he had actually stolen its picture.

He'd taken it from a 2012 written by industrial designer Shabtai Hirshberg, who had aimed to imagine what air travel would look like in 2030.

"This is the accumulation of a one year intensive work, it was my graduating thesis project for my master’s degree in the College for Creative Studies in Detroit," Hirshberg  the Verge.

To be fair to West, the idea of the "iPlane One" being hydrogen-powered does appear to be his own, even if prototype hydrogen planes have already been built by the likes of Boeing.

However, he gave no other details about the plane, possibly assuming that it was enough to put "i" before the name of an idea to make it seem innovative.

He also made one noticeable gaffe during his meeting with Trump: he carelessly revealed his iPhone X's passcode when he opened it.

And even worse than letting cameras film him type his passcode is the code itself, which being "000000" is probably the most guessable password after "123456."

Kanye's keynote

Aside from meeting President Trump, it was an interesting day for West on Thursday.

After his meeting at the White House he made his way to an Apple Store in Georgetown, a residential and commercial area within Washington D.C.

There, he stood on a table and gave an impromptu "keynote" speech, where he summarised what he'd discussed with the American president.

According to local reporter , he claimed to have "made an updated hat that says ‘make America great’ without the ‘again’...and Trump wore it!"

There's no indication that Apple had any idea that West would be visiting one of its stores and giving an off-the-cuff speech.

And while the Sun has asked Apple for comment, it would also seem that the American tech firm has no knowledge of West's plan to have it build his iPlane.
