Overwatch CEREAL on the way as video game’s Lucio-Ohs spotted in the wild

'Sonic Vanilla' flavour breakfast food coming this December - complete with in-game 'loot boost'

BLIZZARD'S Overwatch looks set to take another step into the real world this winter with the launch of a new cereal, Lucio-Oh's.

Lucio, a boombox-wielding support hero from the competitive team-based shooter, has long had in-game graffiti promoting the fictional cereal, while Kellog's has been running Overwatch-themed packaging and promotions with existing products for some time.

A listing for the sugary day-starter was spotted on a catering supply website  and reveals quite a few details about the product.

It will be (artificial) Sonic Vanilla flavour, have 10g of sugar per US cup (roughly half what you get from, say, Coco Pops), and is coming on December 3.

Anyone who buys a box will be able to get a Loot Boost in Overwatch too, which grants players an extra loot box of goodies for each of the next three levels they complete in game.

It is unclear if the cereal will be released outside of the US, though.

Kellog's and Blizzard already have a marketing deal that sees purchases of some boxes of Pop-Tarts, Rice Krispies Treats and Cheez-it crackers rewarded with the same Loot Boost bonus, and new hero Brigitte adorning the packaging.

In-game, Lucio is classed as a 'support' hero, because his main abilities boost his team-mates rather than damage the opposition.

An expansion to Overwatch could be coming as soon as next month, with an announcement rumoured for Blizzard's annual Blizzcon shindig.

This is also not the only expansion of Overwatch into the real world; the company recently revealed the first Overwatch Lego pieces that will be hitting stores soon.
