Disco Domination coming to Fortnite where DANCING is key to victory
The new Limited-Time Mode bears all the hallmarks of the much-missed dance warehouse that used to stand by Loot Lake
FORTNITE has always been about more than just shooting each other in the face, and the new Disco Domination LTM looks set to emphasise that.
Coming soon, the new Limited-Time Mode will see dance floors appearing all over the game's island, with players firing off emotes rather than weapons to raise a disco ball and earn points.
A screenshot shared with the news shows a light-up dancefloor that bears a striking similarity to the one that players used to be able to get down on in a warehouse near Loot Lake, complete with disco ball and lighting gantries.
Like that erstwhile reflective orb, the one in the shared picture is suspended on a pole rather than suspended from the ceiling, so expect to have to bust some moves to get the shining spheroid to ascend.
The season four challenge required four players working together to move the mirrored decoration up by emoting in different corners of the dancefloor, and the mechanics this time seem likely to be very similar.
This being Fortnite you won't be able to drop that bass, step it up or pop-lock without a little work.
Given stopping your opponents scoring is going to be valuable, expect players to be busting heads as much as they're busting moves, at least until things have thinned out a little bit.
According to data mined from the latest patch, if you want to boogie on one of the new dancefloors, you'll have to "take them over by clearing out any enemies" first.
Then your squad will have to dance to raise the ball, as before, to earn points.
As you might expect, the team with the most points at the end of the match wins.
The new LTM comes hot on the heels of the launch of Season 6 which has a developing dance theme, evidenced by the time spent developing (and then removing) breast physics to make dance moves more 'dynamic', a Daft Punk-esque Llama skin and more.
The first set of challenges in Season 6 for those looking to level up their new battle pass, for instance, includes dancing under street lights.
