Google has a SECRET game nobody knew about – here’s how to find it

This game may have been hidden from the world for years, but it is now an open secret

GOOGLE is packed with hidden tricks and games – but there's one secret that the world only just found out about.

The Google.com website has a secret text adventure game that's difficult to stumble across, which is probably why it's remained hidden for so long.

If you search for 'text adventure' and open the developer console, you'll see a text adventure game at the very bottom of the screen

The game was discovered by a Reddit user called /u/attempt_number_1, who posted his findings .

He wrote: "Found a crazy Easter Egg. Search for text adventure and open up the dev console. It asks if you want to play a game."

One user replied: "Holy s**t I think you're the first person to find this."

Another said: "It's not listed on Wikipedia so I guess you're one of the first people to find it."

To play, you just need to type out commands into the developer console and hit enter

The game is a simple text adventure that requires you to type out responses as actions.

It's one of the oldest types of games, because they're easy to make and require very little computing heft.

The mission, should you choose to accept it, is to track down all of the Google letters.

So how do you find it?

First load up Google Chrome (it will work on any web browser, but the commands to open the developer console will be different).

Next type the term "text adventure" in search bar, and press enter.

Now you need to open the developer console – on Windows, press CTRL-SHIFT-I, and on Mac, press CMD + OPTION + I.

Once that opens, look at the very bottom of the developer console and you'll be asked if you want to play a game.

To play, simple type "Yes" at the bottom and hit enter.

You'll then be able to play through the game by typing out commands – very retro.

There are loads of cool tricks that are more widely known about.

For instance, you can search for "pacman", "solitaire", or "tic tac toe" and you'll be able to play all three games right there in the browser.

And if you do a Google Image search for "Atari Breakout", you'll be able to play the arcade classic too.

Searching for "zerg rush" will even turn your entire Google search window into a game where you have to click the dots before they destroy your search results.
