Is Eon the the Xbox-exclusive Fortnite Skin Microsoft fans have been begging for?
Eon skin is in what look to be Xbox colours, and could be a counterpart to Sony's two PlayStation-exclusive skins
FORTNITE data miners have found what looks like it may well be an Xbox exclusive skin for the popular shooter.
The upcoming Eon bundle, while not officially confirmed, looks set to contain the Eon skin, along with the matching Resonator pickaxe and Aurora glider .
According to the listing found in the code for the latest patch, the bundle will come with 2,000 V-Bucks, suggesting it will be purchased outside of the Fortnite item shop itself, where you pay with V-Bucks.
The skin and glider are both in what are generally considered Xbox colours, with white and green dominating.
This seems rather similar to the Wingman and Ace 'starter packs' which feature skins, back bling and V-bucks.
It also has similarities to the first two PlayStation Plus Celebration packs, which contained matching skins, gliders and pickaxes, and were (primarily) in PlayStation's traditional blue.
The Celebration packs have been free to download for PlayStation Plus members, and have been a cause of much moaning by Xbox-owning Fortnite fans who haven't been getting any equivalent bling.
Another option is that the in-game bundle could be part of a larger hardware bundle, akin to the PlayStation exclusive Royale Bomber outfit bundle.
Sony's Fortnite-edition PS4 bundle included a starter pack for battle royale which featured 500 V-bucks and the Royale Bomber. More recently, the firm revealed a controller bundle which let players get that skin without having to shell out for an entirely new console.
