Nintendo fans outraged as EARTHQUAKE delays game announcements

Many fans were supportive of Nintendo's decision to postpone after the deadly quake - but a disgusting minority expressed their displeasure at the news

NINTENDO announced earlier today that it was postponing a broadcast announcing new games that it had planned for this evening after an earthquake hit just off the Japanese island of Hokkaido.

Nine people were killed, many homes have been destroyed and more than three million people in the region are still without power.

As a result Nintendo has postponed today's planned Nintendo Direct event "out of respect".

Many fans praised Nintendo for the delay, with comments from the community backing the firm's decision.

"Don't worry about the Direct. Everyone has to be safe and good first. Praying for Japan," one user said. Others said they were glad for the sake of the community that the announcements had been delayed until a point when everyone who wanted to watch it could again.

Others, however, were less charitable.

"Did the pre-recorded video get injured or something? ... Japan gets hit by earthquakes every year. What’s new?" said one particularly thoughtless imbecile.

"It probably wasn’t even a big earthquake i didn’t see it on the news," said another of the 6.7-magnitude tremor that left dozens missing after it hit shortly after 3a.m.

Another thoughtless Twitter user simple said: "The earthquake has nothing to do with Nintendo Direct. Bad luck to those in Hokkaido, but they can watch it later or read a summary."

Some even posted earthquake memes.
