FORTNITE's Battle Royale has new trick up its sleeve -- a heist-themed limited-time mode called The Getaway that gives players a goal other than just being last one standing.
It comes as part of the High Stakes event, which brings a new masked skin to the item shop as well as other cosmetics to be won playing The Getaway.
Players get a free crowbar harvesting tool for completing all the challenges, as well as bunch of XP to help build that season level.
The Getaway is a squad mode that sees jewel-filled safes dropped by supply drop balloons across the map. Once the gems are down, you need to grab them and safely transport them to a getaway van.
Pick up a jewel in five different matches and you'll get a cash contrail -- but do 500 damage to players carrying a jewel and you'll be rewarded with a spray themed on the mode's masked skin.
The third challenge bags you 5,000 XP--and just involves playing ten matches in the new mode before the event ends.
And it wouldn't be Fortnite if there weren't things to buy with your own (hopefully clean) money.
In this case you've got the Wildcard outfit -- a sharp white suit with a choice of heart, diamond, club or spade hockey mask--and Safe Cracker Glider.
Wildcard doesn't have a confirmed price or rarity yet, but we'd fully expect it to be Legendary, and cost you V2,000 (around £20). For that you will get the cuff-case back bling and the Safe Cracker glider, though, so there's a decent amount of bang for your buck.
