New iPhone XS leak shows brand-spanking new colour ahead of September 12 Apple event
HERE it is – your first official look at Apple’s new iPhones in a brand new gold colour.
After months of concept images and replicas, this is the debut image directly from the source leaked along with the first shot of the Apple Watch 4, via 9to5Mac.
It arrives less than 24 hours after Apple announced its September 12 iPhone event, where it’s expected to unveil three new iPhones, the Apple Watch 4, and (maybe) an iPad Pro.
The photo reportedly shows the 5.8-inch and 6.5-inch OLED iPhones, both confusingly dubbed the iPhone XS, going by the latest rumours.
Tipsters already let slip that the two high-end models pictured here would come in gold and this image backs that up.
You can partially see the curved gold edges that house the volume and ring/silent buttons, with the rest of the frame shrouded in darkness.
The screen contains a fluid image that harks back to the astronomical screensavers on Apple’s MacBooks and packs plenty of colour – all the better to show off that super-sharp OLED screen.
Both models are tipped to tout Apple‘s new A12 Bionic chip, FaceID, and a rear-dual lens camera.
But the bigger of the two may pack a higher resolution, 2688 x 1242 pixels compared to 2436 x 1125 on the 5.8-inch version, and a larger battery.
The two high-end phones could land in-stores on September 21, with a cheaper 6.1-inch LCD model following in October.
That budget model is expected to come in a total of seven colours, including orange, yellow, and blue.
