What are the Fortnite Week 5 Challenges?

The battle pass challenges for week 5 have been revealed.

For those who are new to Fortnite, the weekly challenges help you rank up quickly and unlock different outfits, gliders and emotes for your character.

If you are hoping to get the tier-100 Ragnarok outfit you will need to complete these challenges.

Here they are in full:

Battle Pass challenges:

  • Deal 300 damage to opponents with Clinger, Stink Bomb or Grenade (5 Battle Stars)
  • Hit a golf ball from tee to green on FIVE different holes (5 Battle Stars)
  • Eliminate THREE opponents in Shifty Shafts (10 Battle Stars)
  • Follow the treasure map found in Snobby Shores (10 Battle Stars)

Some of those are obviously easier than others. You can see the location of all the Junk Junction chests here, and you should just come across three rifts in the course of your other challenges -- there are around twenty scattered across the map, with particular concentration around Paradise Palms.

It also does not take a Fortnite polymath to work out that you need to head to Lazy Links to hit golf balls. There are nine holes on the new course, so take your pick.

Remember, you can still do any of previous week's challenges that you've missed -- so check out our guide to clay pigeon shooting, finding floating lightning bolts, or jumping through flaming hoops.

Not finished with last week's challenges yet? Never fear, here's how to deal with the trickier ones:

Where to search between a Gas Station, Soccer Pitch, and Stunt Mountain

As search challenges go, this one should be fairly straightfoward.

The spot you want is in map square C4, south of Pleasant Park's soccer field, north-east of Stunt Mountain and west of the petrol station near the fork in the road with turnings to Pleasant Park and Loot Lake.

The battle star is hiding just behind a silver birch as you look towards the petrol station from the rear.

This is the view you're after, though you might prefer it to have fewer alive people in

Where to jump through flaming hoops

There are ramps scattered all over the map, most notably on Stunt Mountain.

The cheat sheet above has locations marked for 10 - and you only need to jump through five to claim the stars.

In case you're wondering what to look for, they look very much like this:

The hoops are all flamin' obvious once you know where to look

When was Fortnite season 5 released and what were the changes?

Fortnite Season 5 was officially released on July 12, 2018, and a new Battle Pass brought new skins, emotes and locations to change the look of the map.

As always a new Battle Pass brings with it plenty of new skins, emotes and pickaxes and the main customisable upgradeable skins this time are called Drift and Ragnarok.

It will include vehicles, with a new All Terrain Kart, which holds up to four people and has a bounce pad on the roof.

Original location Anarchy Aches has also paved way for the introduction of beachside holiday site Lazy Links.

Moisty Mire has also been wiped from memory in place of a new desert biome called Paradise Palms, a tropical-themed location in the south-east area of the map.

The desert has "unique ambient audio", while other areas will be getting their own versions "in future updates", according to Epic Games.

Competitive play with a HUGE prize pool is also on the way, but this is separate from this patch.

For a limited time period, Fortnite's birthday challenges are available to complete to celebrate the game's one-year anniversary.
