Fortnite Double XP weekend – when does it start, what time does it finish and what’s happened to Final Fight?

FORTNITE'S fourth season is drawing to a close -- and that means you don't have long to claim those elusive lights for your Omega skin.

Thankfully for you slackers out there, Epic Games is offering double the experience points all weekend long so you can catch up with the grinders whose shiny toys you've been gazing enviously at all season long.

The event started on June 29th at 9 a.m. UK time, and will end at 8 a.m. on the morning of Monday July 2nd. The bonus XP doesn't apply to those Battle Pass bonuses though -- it only works for XP awarded from each match as it ends.

This also applies to XP from tasks, so you don't need to rush your Week 9 challenges to get them in under the wire before you have to emerge blinking back into the real world on Monday morning or face losing out on a crate-load of XP in your quest to reach season level 80 and finish off Omega.

While most Fortnite players seemed very grateful for the XP boost, some were irked that others who "couldn’t be arsed playing all season" would now get the rewards they spent hours working towards for less effort.
