This 4K LG TV is down to an insanely low £429

The official retail price for the LG 55UJ630V is £719.99.

But online retailer RGB Direct is flogging the 2017 set for a much friendlier £479.

Better still, if you enter the code SAVE50 at checkout, you can knock an additional £50 off the price tag.

That means you'll pay just £429 for a massive 55in TV from a top telly maker.

This deal is very impressive considering the large 55in screen size

That's more than Amazon's current best price of £479.

And according to our price tracker, Amazon has only ever matched the £429 price once – during the Christmas sales.

The set was being flogged over at Amazon for £500 as recently as May 24, so you're definitely getting a big bargain here.

What's great about this LG TV is that it comes with a huge 55in 4K screen.

A 4K display has four times the number of pixels compared to a traditional Full HD screen.

That means TV shows and movies filmed in 4K will show off much more detail, giving you a more realistic look at the on-screen action.

There's no shortage of 4K content these days either, with popular apps like YouTube, Netflix and Amazon Video all offering "Ultra HD" content.

LG's discounted telly has another perk, too – it supports High Dynamic Range (HDR) video.

HDR movies and TV shows have improved contrast (brighter whites and darker blacks) and feature a wider range of colours, compared to Standard Dynamic Range video.

But you can only take advantage of HDR-quality content if you have a HDR-ready TV.

This LG model supports HDR video, so you'll be able to enjoy gorgeous films and telly from the likes of Netflix and Amazon Video.

LG has also fitted this TV out with its out custom-designed WebOS software.

So you'll get access to all the most popular catch-up / on-demand apps, like BBC iPlayer, ITV Hub, All 4, Demand 5, Netflix, Now TV and Amazon Video.

And on the back you'll find a generous selection of ports: four HDMI 2.0 sockets, one USB 3.0 port, and two USB 2.0 jacks.
