COCA-COLA has revealed what the future of vending machines looks like – and it's awesome.
The new Coca-Cola Freestyle 9100 machine boasts a large 24-inch touchscreen and Bluetooth connectivity.
Coca-Cola has been shipping Freestyle vending machines since back in 2009.
The machines are built around customisation – the latest version lets you choose from more than 200 drink options, including over 100 that can't be found anywhere else in the world (like Sprite Peach).
This new model is set to launch in the second half of 2018, and it's received some seriously sci-fi overhauls.
There's a massive high-definition touchscreen, and a dedicated mobile app.
The app lets you use Bluetooth to connect to a Freestyle machine nearby.
You can then cue up your favourite beverage or create a new mix, which will be ready once you arrive at the machine.
“We've built features into this dispenser that are not only contemporary for today,” said Chris Hellmann, who heads up the Coca-Cola Freestyle division.
“We’ve also future-proofed the platform with not-yet-activated features like audio capability, optical sensors and a new equipment option that will eventually support the addition of drink categories not available on Freestyle today, such as teas, cold coffees and new varieties of juices.”
There are 200 beverages to choose from, including 117 that are low- or no-calorie.
There are also 130 options that have no caffeine, too.
According to Coca-Cola, it has 50,000 Freestyle dispensers already out in the wild – making 14million servings per day.
The Freestyle machines launched in the UK back in 2011 – you can find local machines .
