What is Fortnite’s Solo Showdown, how does the new mode work and what rewards can you earn?
The latest Solo Showdown development has been dubbed 'the ultimate test of survival'
FORTNITE has introduced its first competitive mode in the form of Solo Showdown.
The online sensation run by Epic Games has developed a new version to 'place players against other self-selected competitors'.
What is Solo Showdown on Fortnite?
Solo Showdown is a new time-limited mode on popular online game Fortnite.
It is just like Fortnite's Battle Royale, except players are allowed to compete live against each other. Epic Games, which created it, calls the challenge "
the ultimate test of survival".
In the version of the game set in a post-apocalyptic world, players will be tracked and their performances rated.
It means the 100 best performers will win prizes.
What are the prizes?
The rewards vary considerably, with the best performer in 50 games winning 50,000 V-Bucks. The V-Buck is the in-game currency which can then be spend on other Fortnite products and upgrades.
It costs in the region of £400 to buy 50,000 V-Bucks so it is a pretty attracting goal.
Those coming 2nd to 4th will each get 25,000 V-Bucks and all those from 5th to 50th will be rewarded with 13,500 free V-Bucks.
And all those from 51st to 100th place at the end of the game will each get 7,500 V-Bucks.
You must enter the contest by Monday May 21 to take part.
