GAMERS eager for new shinies to ogle from next month's E3 should be ready for disappointment -- Sony today confirmed it doesn't have any new hardware to show off in Los Angeles.

Sony Interactive Entertainment Worldwide Studios's boss Shawn Layden told over the weekend that the firm's E3 conference will primarily just be exclusive looks at four games.

Layden also categorically stated that "there will be no new hardware announcements at E3"; from the firm.

While there will be brief presentations and announcements from other publishers, Sony is concentrating on the next Spider-Man game, The Last of Us Part II, Death Stranding and Ghost of Tsushima.

Of those, it seems like Spider-Man fans may only get a -- hopefully lengthy -- trailer, with Layden just promising a "drop" on the game.

Death Stranding, from Metal Gear Solid house Kojima Productions, will feature with a "complete" report on how the game is coming.

Ghost of Tsushima, the next game from the makers of InFamous, is going to get a "deep dive" as will The Last of Us: Part II.

Sony's press conference will be at 2am UK time on June 12--it's kicking off at 6pm local time in LA on the Monday of E3 week. You'll be able to watch it live on Sony's website, or via social media.
