Samsung’s foldable Galaxy X smartphone release date REVEALED? This is when the bendy blower is tipped to land

SAMSUNG's rumoured foldable Galaxy X smartphone is at the centre of a massive leak that reveals its potential release date.

The bendy device could be unveiled in February of next year, according to South Korea's financial newspaper The Bell.

If accurate, that implies the next-generation handset will take the stage at the Mobile World Congress MWC 2019 trade show.

It would also also see the Galaxy X beat Apple's rumoured foldable iPhone to market.

The report gives us some juicy new details about the sci-fi smartphone, which was apparently shown off to the tech giant's partners at CES in January.

That device (which may have been a concept rather than the final product) had a fold-in design with three 3.5-inch OLED displays.

One of those screens is found on the outside of the handset, with two displays on the inside.

The insane origami-style phone folds together to form a 7-inch screen at the front, claims the report – although it may be between 6 or 7-inches if we take real-life geometry in to account.

Meanwhile the third super-sharp OLED screen on the outside of the phone allows you to interact with it when the handset is closed.

As always, it's best to remain sceptical until Samsung drops a Galaxy X truth bomb on our heads.

But industry expert Daniel Ives told The Sun that the new tip-off could be on the money. He also revealed how much the smartphone may cost.

"We believe the long awaited foldable smartphone could be out by MWC in 2019 and would potentially beat Apple in the race to be first to market on this front," said the GBH Inisghts analyst.

"This is a major initiative with price points likely in the $600 [which would translate to £600 in the UK] range with various models scaling up".

So what does this all mean for the Samsung Galaxy S10?

The flagship follow-up to the £739 S9 is usually reserved for a MWC reveal, but could now be pushed forward to January, claims The Bell.

It may also be in need of a name change to avoid confusion with the Galaxy X.
