Sky customers will be able to watch the Royal Wedding in 4K – here’s what you’ll need
SKY customers will be able to watch the first Royal Wedding ever broadcast in 4K.
The Royal Wedding will be exclusively available in 4K Ultra HD courtesy of Sky News – and we’ve got all the details on how to watch it.

So if you’ve already made the upgrade, you’ll be able to watch the Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Royal Wedding in glorious 4K quality.
4K relates to the number of pixels on your TV screen.
A 4K telly has four times the number of pixels compared to a standard Full HD display.
More pixels means TV show and movie creators can cram more detail onto your screen.
And if you’re sitting quite close to your telly, it means you’re less likely to see the little pixels that make up your display – because they’re so small.
What’s held 4K telly back slightly is the difficulty of broadcasting it.
Filming and sharing 4K video is tough because the file sizes of the content are so much bigger than standard def telly.
So it’s impressive that Sky will be live-broadcasting the Royal Wedding in 4K.
“We’re incredibly excited to be the first and only broadcaster to televise a Royal Wedding in UHD,” said John Ryley, Head of Sky News.
“Sky News will offer viewers a comprehensive package of coverage across all our platforms, however they wish to follow the event on the day,” he added.
Sky will be making use of 110 cameras and 160 technical staff to make the feat possible.

How to watch Royal Wedding in 4K
The Royal Wedding is scheduled to air on Saturday, May 19 at 9am on Sky News and Sky One.
The first thing you’ll need is a 4K television – a normal HD telly won’t be able to show 4K footage in its crisp native quality.
But you’ll also need the right Sky subscription – specifically, one that includes a Sky Q 2TB box.
It’s not a bad investment, mind.
Sky already offers a bunch of 4K content through Sky Q, include films like Dunkirk, Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul, and War of the Planet of the Apes.
