How to download ALL your Instagram photos, Stories and videos quickly

Instagram

PHOTOS may be snapshots in time but it can be useful to have them all in one place.

Luckily you can harness all your Instagram magic in one – and we've got a guide on how to do it.

The feature was first announced in 2018, and is now available on iOS devices, like your iPhone or iPad, and Android phones and tablets.

When you choose to download your data, Instagram will create a huge file and email you a link to it.

The file will contain all the photos, videos and Instagram Stories you've shared – but photos you've deleted won't be in there.

So how do you download all your Instagram photos?

  1. First, go to Instagram.com – the website, not the app – and log in with your username and password
  2. Find the little gear icon next to the Edit Profile option
  3. This will bring up a pop-up menu – choose Privacy and Security
  4. Then scroll down to Data Download and press Request Download
  5. You'll need to type in your email address if it doesn't automatically appear
  6. Hit Next, enter your password, and then press Request Download

It's unlikely your file will appear in your email inbox immediately, especially if you've got thousands of stories on your profile.

But it should show up eventually, so just have patience.

It's a great way to back up all of the photos you've shared on Instagram in case anything ever goes wrong with the Facebook-owned service.

It also means that if you want to quit Instagram, you'll be easily able to save all of the photos you've shared on the app.

And download your photos means you can recover photos you've got on Instagram but deleted from your phone with much less hassle.

Facebook has been letting users download their data on the Facebook app for years.

So it's no surprise that this feature has now rolled out to Instagram.

If you're looking for an alternative, you can also use to do the same.
