APPLE'S SIRI is so bad at its job that people have resorted to mocking the bot's blunders on social media.
Needless to say, a digital voice assistant that keeps getting its answers wrong is pretty embarrassing for the tech giant.
Especially when rivals like Amazon's Alexa and Google Assistant are snapping up users left and right, and gaining rave reviews for their AI smarts in the process.
Like its cohorts, Siri is designed to be a knowledge bank that provides snappy responses to queries (ranging from flight times to the weather), carries out tasks (like snapping selfies and marking calendar events), and makes calls.
Only that doesn't seem to be the case in reality, which may explain why so many iPhone users have given up on the bot.
Even Apple's aware of its foibles and is turning to for a fix.

What is Siri? The origins of Apple's AI
- Siri is an intelligent voice assistant that's capable of scheduling events, telling you the weather, making restaurant reeservations, and counting down the timer, among other things.
- Launched on the iPhone 4S in 2011, Siri was one of the last projects Steve Jobs was heavily involved in at Apple before his death.
- It has since jumped on to the iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, Apple TV and HomePod.
- You can activate the bot by saying "Hey Siri" before making your request.
- The tech was was actually a spin-off project from the SRI International Artificial Intelligence Center.
- Apple acquired Siri in 2010 for a reported $200million.
- Siri co-creator Adam Cheyer said its name was picked because it's "easy to remember, short to type, comfortable to pronounce, and a not-too-common human name".
