Petition creator Tayler Malkinson adds: "Save your relationship."
One signee wrote: "This game is ridiculous. Ruining my relationship."
What is Fortnite Battle Royale?
If you're new to the game, here's what you need to know
- Fortnite Battle Royale is a free game
- It's available on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, Mac and now iPhone too
- In the game, up to 100 players are dropped onto a fictional island
- Players are then forced to battle it out in a last-person-standing deathmatch
- To help, players can collect a range of weapons hidden all over the island
- You can also collect resources – like wood, bricks and metal – to build defensive structures
- The area you can play in on the island is constantly shrinking thanks to an encroaching storm
- This means players are forced together over time, until just one person survives
- The game has been a huge hit, and is currently being trialled on iPhone
A second, more popular petition called "Get rid of Fortnite" has garnered support from 379 people.
Creator Chloe DePalma : "Girls have to deal with their boyfriends playing it all day and ignoring them.
"Together we can stop this dumb game from existing.
"It's taking over our boyfriends' lives and brainwashing them."
A girl called Megan posted to Twitter: "I've officially lost my boyfriend to Fortnite."
She added: "Girls, how does one get your bf to PAY ATTENTION TO YOU?"
Another user said: "For any girl that lost their boyfriend's attention to Fortnite, stay strong. We need to come together."
The problem has been made worse by the fact that Fortnite game is now available on iPhone – where before it was only playable on consoles and PC.
That means Fortnite addicts can play the game when they're out and about, without any downtime.
Twitter user Erin Moser said: "If everyone can please say a quick prayer for me I'd really appreciate it.
"I lost my boyfriend to the Fortnite app on iPhone."
