Twitter boss Jack Dorsey thinks real cash will soon go kaput and be replaced with Bitcoin

ANOTHER Silicon Valley big wig thinks we'll all soon ditch real cash for Bitcoin.

Twitter boss Jack Dorsey claims the virtual currency will be the only form of money in around ten years time.

It would happen "probably over ten years, but it could go faster".

That's an ambitious timeline, even considering the recent hype around Bitcoin.

At the time of writing Bitcoin's price was sitting at $8,559 (£6,075).

 

But there's a reason Dorsey is so keen on digital cash.

In addition to serving as top dog at Twitter, he's also the CEO of Square, a payments company that recently added the option to buy and sell Bitcoin directly from its app.

"We support Bitcoin because we see it as a long-term path towards greater financial access for all," Dorsey said in a tweet, upon the launch of the feature.

The billionaire computer programmer also owns an unspecified amount of the virtual currency – as does Elon Musk and Sir Richard Branson.
