Can you fly to the small island in Fortnite? Here’s what happens if you try
If you've ever questioned whether it's safe to land on the small island off the coast of the Fortnite Battle Royale mainland, we've got the answer
PLAYING Fortnite and tempted to fly over to that tiny island off the mainland?
We tried it out to see if you can use it as a top secret hideaway, but things didn't quite go to plan.
When you jump out of the battle bus at the start of the game, most people sky-dive to hot loot locations on the main island.
But if you dive out at an angle, and pop your glider out early enough, you can actually glide off the side of the island towards a smaller island nearby.
Sadly, you can't actually reach this island.
Just as you're about to get above the smaller island, you'll hit an invisible wall – and won't be able to fly any further.
If you want to try it out for yourself, it is possible to fly to the island's invisible wall and back to the mainland without dying.
But if you leave your flight too late, you'll hit the invisible wall and end up landing in the water.
When you get close to the small island, you may realise it looks a little familiar.
That's because it's actually the pre-game island you're stuck on while you're waiting for the proper game to load up with enough players.

Confusingly, even though you're technically departing from the small island, the battle bus doesn't always fly from that direction.
But get close enough to the small island and you'll see the tiny airstrip that you hang around on before each game.
