How to update your PS4 to the latest software version – an easy guide
Heard about the latest version of PS4 software, but have no idea how to get it? We've got all the details
DOWNLOADING the latest PS4 updates is important, because it means you can access all the latest features.
It also means you can keep your machine safe and secure from hackers, so here's an easy guide to updating your PlayStation 4.
The updating process is really simple – just follow these steps:
- First, make sure your PS4 is connected to the internet
- Then, go to your Settings menu, scroll down and select System Software Update
- Your PS4 will then check to see if you've got the latest PS4 software version
- If you're using an older version, your PS4 will start downloading the latest update
When downloading is complete, you'll get a notification in the upper-left corner of your screen.
From the main PS4 screen, navigate to your Notifications, and then head to Downloads.
Then just follow the on-screen instructions to perform the update installation.
Updating may require your PS4 to restart, so don't be alarmed if this happens.
Importantly, don't turn off the power on your PS4 manually while the update is taking place, or you could mess your console up.
