New Crash Bandicoot game rumoured for 2019 – here’s what you need to know
A surprise leak (which has since been deleted) suggested that a new Crash Bandicoot game is in the works. We've got all the details...
A NEW Crash Bandicoot game could be in the works, according to a fresh leak.
There's been no official announcement, but an industry magazine appears to have accidentally revealed the upcoming game without Activision's permission.
The most recent Crash game was Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy, which landed in June last year and was a surprise critical success.
Sadly, the game was only available on PS4, but it seems a secret Crash title alleged to be in development could launch on Windows PCs and the new Nintendo Switch.
The source is the spring 2018 edition of a magazine called Licensing Source Book Europe, which quotes a manager at a licensed merchandise supplier called GB Eye.
GB Eye works with Activision to flog themed merchandise around the Crash Bandicoot franchise, including posters and mugs.
We asked Activision about the apparent leak, but the company declined to comment.
Crash Bandicoot is a hugely popular video game franchise that was originally exclusive to PlayStation consoles, but eventually broadened out.
The first game was released in 1996, and followed a bandicoot – a small Australian mammal – called Crash as he traversed platform-style levels.
At least 19 Crash Bandicoot games have been released overall, making it one of Activision's most well-known franchises.
