APPLE lovers, look away now.
Smartphone rival Samsung has released a merciless advert mocking customers' ten years of devotion to the iPhone by pointing out all the features they could have been enjoying on a Samsung instead.
Hidden among the brazen critique of smartphone-obsessed gadget geeks is a dig at the iPhone X's most recognisable feature - the "notch".
The advert, titled "growing up" is a nostalgic trip down memory lane for a young man who queued up for the first ever iPhone in 2007 and ten years later has decided to skip the queue in favour of a Samsung Galaxy Note 8.
Viewers are shown his ten-year progression as he encounters milestones in his life, all with his iPhone by his side.
Along the way, Samsung makes not so subtle suggestions that its own flagship devices had useful features that usurped the iPhone.
That includes the Stylus, being the first to waterproof their phones, improved battery and docking to stream on laptops and TVs.
In one scene the Apple-loving lad tries to jot down his would-be girlfriend's number.
Armed with just an iPhone, he has to painstakingly type it in her digits, whereas she hands him her Samsung and Stylus to jot it down for her.
Cut to a scene where he falls into a lake along with a lady lover - as you do.
His partner's Samsung appears fully functional but the iPhone is on a one-way ticket to a dry rice bowl.
Among the pretty damning critique of die-hard Apple lovers, there's a more subtle dig at the brand new iPhone X's design.
You may have heard of the "notch" which adorns the edge-to-edge screen which is manufactured by Samsung, by the way - although the design remains up to Tim Cook and co.
Samsung's infinity screen, along with Google's Pixel 2 XL, don't seem to need one but Apple's design team have opted to cut into the screen to make room for the camera, speaker grille and sensors.
They appear to mock this addition in the clip.
If you look very closely at the queue for the 2017 iPhone X, you'll notice a man with a peculiar hairstyle.
Yes, that's right. He's flaunting his very own forehead "notch".
All that's left now is to wait for Apple to bring out their own version. We think it should be called "the one where my phone didn't burst into flames".
