It's a big day for Xbox fans but Brits won't be happy to learn they have to fork out more than gamers in the US and zero game announcements

Microsoft unveils its latest £449 console Xbox One X at E3 2017

YOU can now order the Xbox One X console, which Microsoft claims is "the most powerful yet".

It was first unveiled in June, but gaming fans have only been able to snap up a special edition of the gadget called Project Scorpio.

Now the standard Xbox One X will be available online and in stores across the world.

British gamers may be annoyed to hear that the gadget costs more in the UK than in the US.

It will set you back £449 in Blighty, which is almost £100 more expensive than the US price of $499.

You can order straight from the Microsoft website, or at the same cost in Argos, Tesco, Amazon or John Lewis.

If you do sign up, the consoles will ship on 7 November and land in shops on the same day.

XBOX SCORPIO SPECS

  • CPU: Eight-core 2.3GHz processor
  • GPU: 40 compute units at 1172MHz
  • RAM: 12GB GDDR5
  • Bandwidth: 326GB/s
  • Storage: 1TB hard disk
  • Disc: UHD 4K Blu-ray player

Xbox boss Phil Spencer previously boasted that the One X is "the world’s most powerful console".

Top-end computer chips, normally only found in machines costing thousands of pounds, allow titles to be feature film-like graphics in so-called "ultra high-definition" also known as 4K.

The main “brain” is 30 per cent faster than in the original Xbox One and the chips that deal with graphics are more than four times more powerful.

Sony launched its own super-powered console - the PlayStation 4 Pro - late last year. However, the Xbox One X out-muscles it.

It comes with a 4K UHD Blu-Ray drive which gives the console native support for 4K gaming.

It will run the same games as the Xbox One S, but some will be "enhanced" for the system.
