iPhone 8 leaks and rumours reveal a VERY welcome prediction about the price of Apple’s upcoming gadget
TECH fans are bracing themselves for the arrival of the much-anticipated iPhone 8, which will be a blockbuster release to mark the 10th anniversary of the first Apple smartphone.
But rumours swirling around the internet have suggested the gadget will come with a whopping price tag.
So how much will the iPhone 8 actually cost?
Well, the fact of the matter is that we just don't know, because Apple observes a policy of secrecy which puts MI6 to shame.
It's previously been claimed the iPhone 8 - which is actually expected to be called the iPhone Edition or iPhone X - will cost up to £1,000 for a basic model and even more if it's fitted with a larger amount of memory.

However, this suggestion has now been thrown into question in a briefing note published by the global financial services firm USB.
"Apple tends not to price far from the high end competition," the analysts wrote,
"With the Galaxy Plus at $840 and the Note at [almost] $950, we think a $900 price tag for the base OLED model makes sense."

UBS predicted the phone would start at $900 (£694) for the basic iPhone 8 model and then rise to a maximum of $1,000 (£771) for a 256GB model.
To get a British price, you need to factor in the plunging value of the Brexit-bashed pound has caused the price of consumer electronics to shoot up in the UK.
This could mean the iPhone 8 costs between £800 and £900.
Samsung's latest Galaxy Note 8 costs about £869 - so it's a safe bet to assume that Apple's gadget will match or top this price.
Apple has hiked up the price of several gadgets in the UK due to the dodgy pound.
Of course, we'll have to wait until the iPhone is launched on September 12 to find out for sure.
