APPLE will unveil the iPhone 8 in just over two weeks, it has been claimed.

The tech giant is expected to unleash no less than three varieties of iPhone along with a new Apple Watch at an event on September 12.

That's the claim in a , which is generally a reliable source when it comes to Apple rumours.

The launch event could be the first to take place at the Steve Jobs Theater within Apple's new "Spaceship" HQ.

Last week, the website also suggested the big day would come on September 12, claiming to have received "several testimonies" from sources.

However, Apple has not officially confirmed the date and has not yet issued invites to the launch event.

The tenth-anniversary smartphone is expected to feature a huge range of innovations.

As well as some exciting additions like an infinity screen and a 3D camera, it's been suggested the gadget will come with a cool wireless charging facility.

Leaked pictures of wireless iPhone charging pads were shared on Chinese social media site Weibo.

Apple hasn't commented on the pictures, which have gone viral ahead of the iPhone 8 launch.

The tight-lipped tech firm has refused to confirm any details on the design or tech specifications.

So all we have to go on is a series of leaks and rumours from manufacturers and analysts close to the company.

McDonald's appeared to have accidentally revealed the new design of the mysterious, soon-to-be-released iPhone 8 in a promotional email sent earlier this month.

It demonstrated the new software on an iPhone which looks strikingly different from those currently on the market.

But it later denied the email had revealed the new device.

RINGING IN THE CHANGES iPhone 8 rumours, leaks and pictures – from new blush gold colour to infrared facial recognition

The fast food chain said: "We created a mock-up of a phone screen to show the functionality of our My Macca’s app.

"Any similarity to any other design is coincidental."

Some analysts think Apple won't even call the new gadget the iPhone 8 and it will be instead called the iPhone Pro.

Rumours also suggest Apple will ditch the Touch ID for a facial recognition unlock system similar to the Samsung Galaxy S8.
