The iPhone 8 will be called the iPhone Pro and will cost up to £1,000, Apple rumours suggest
THE iPhone 8 is expected to be a mega-powerful smartphone with a whopping price to match.
An Apple watcher has claimed the gadget will cost up to $1,100 (£848) meaning that it could be slapped with a price tag of about £1,000 in the UK.
JP Morgan Apple analyst Rod Hall has published a briefing note suggesting the gadget's price and suggesting it will be called the iPhone Pro,
John Gruber, founder of the Mac-focused blog Daring Fireball, also recently suggested the price will be high due to the sophistication of the device, which is expected to feature an advanced OLED screen.
He claimed the iPhone 8 will be regarded as a "Pro" version of the gadget.
Apple has already released two versions of the iPad - a basic model and the super powerful iPad Pro - as well as a Macbook Pro that's a pricier version of its laptop computer.
