Although PlayStation Network has been down for over eight hours, it is not the longest outage in the company's history.

In 2011, "external intrusion" forced the PSN to shut down for 23 days.

Personal information from about 77 million accounts was compromised during the PSN Hack, which stopped users of PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Portable consoles from accessing the service.

Concerns about the theft and Sony's one-week delay in alerting its users were raised by government officials.

Personally identifiable information, such as physical addresses, dates of birth, passwords, and financial information like debit card numbers, were exposed and made vulnerable as a result of the breach.

  • Fans reactions

Gaming is a way to wind down during the weekend for many but the outage ruined those plans for the fans.

This code is usually displayed when there is no internet connectivity.

However, with the whole PlayStation Network being down, your console might just assume there is no connection.
