Surprise new iPhone SE 4 tipped to be unveiled in DAYS and it’ll be cheaper than current models

Bloomberg reported that the new model will have a "roughly $500 price point"

APPLE is reportedly days away from unveiling a new iPhone, that could hit shelves later in February.

And it will be Apple's most affordable model of the last couple of years.

Rumours of a new iPhone SE were born around February 2023, though it was notably missing from Apple's iPhone 15 and 16 launches.

Yet its existence could be announced "as early as next week", according to Bloomberg.

And with stocks of the iPhone SE 3 running low on the ground, Bloomberg also reported, a launch could be right around the corner.

The tech giant has not released an iPhone SE since 2022.

Leaked images suggest the handset will resemble the iPhone 14, but with a single 48MP back camera.

It's also expected to adopt Face ID, leaving the beloved Fingerprint ID firmly in Apple's past.

That means the Home Button is gone as well.

The iPhone SE 4 - which may also take the name iPhone 16E - may boast Apple's newer A-series chip and 8GB of RAM.

This would make it capable of running new AI-driven Apple Intelligence features, like a smarter Siri, custom emoji and new photo editing tools.

In light of new EU regulations, all future iPhone models must have a USB-C charging port - and the iPhone SE 4 is unlikely to be an exception.

Bloomberg reported that the new model will have a "roughly $500 price point" - slightly more expensive than the iPhone SE3.

The iPhone SE 3, which was released alongside the iPhone 14, ranged from $429/£449 to $579/£609.

That is a far more inviting price than the iPhone 14 Pro, which retailed at $999/£1,099.

The iPhone SE 2 clocked a slightly lower price tag, ranging from $399/£419 and $549/£569.

iPhone tricks to try today

Here are some of the best...

  • Typing cursor – When typing, hold down the space bar to turn your keyboard into a trackpad, letting you move around words and sentences more easily
  • Close all Safari tabs – To do this in one go, simply hold the overlapped squares in the bottom right-hand corner, and press close all tabs
  • Delete lots of photos quickly – Hold down on a photo and then drag your finger diagonally in Photos to select lots of images at once, then hit delete
  • Convert currency quickly – Swipe down from the top of your Home screen, then tap in the bar and type a currency (like €200) and it will automatically covert to your local currency
  • Check if you’re due a battery upgrade – Batteries inside smartphones degrade over time. Just go to Settings > Battery > Battery Health, and check out the Maximum Capacity reading. Generally a battery is considered worn when you’re down to 80% capacity. If you’re below, you can buy a battery swap from Apple
  • Move apps around faster – Hold an app until it starts wiggling, then (while still holding) tap other apps, causing them to stack so you can move them around easier
