Netflix Price Rise in the UK: What You Need to Know

BRITS have been hit by yet more news of streaming bill hikes, this time from Netflix.

The popular streaming platform, home to hits like Squid Game and The Crown, has announced that prices are rising by up to £2.

The trick is to not subscribe to all streaming services at once – spread it out

Standard subscription holders are hit the hardest, seeing their fees soar from £10.99 to £12.99 per month.

Meanwhile, the most expensive premium plan is going up by £1, taking the total monthly cost to £18.99.

And the cheapest ad plan is also costing an extra £1 going forward, priced at £5.99 instead of £4.99.

Streamers increasing prices has become a routine occurrence much like traditional satellite or cable TV bills.

But there is an easy trick for telly lovers to help cut costs drastically – and you could save up to £400 if you plan it properly.

One major factor that sets streaming apart from the satellite or cable subscriptions is they are monthly rolling costs, so you can cancel at any time.

The most popular streaming apps are Netflix, Disney+ and Amazon Prime Video – though there are others of course.

If you subscribe to all three of these at the same time it’s a waste of money.

Subscribe to only one at a time for say, four months each, and you could save a heap of cash.

You can be as flexible as you want on it really, doing four month blocks for each or just doing one each month.

You’ll need to set reminders on your phone so you know when to cancel and subscribe to the next one.

If you’re subscribed to the most expensive premium monthly plans offered from Netflix, Disney+ and Amazon Prime Video, this stands to save about £400 in total.

But even if you’re on a cheaper plan, there’s money to be saved.
