The Game Awards opens its second round of Players’ Voice with gamers top 10 games of the year
THE Game Awards are almost here, and people can’t wait to find out which games will receive gaming’s most prestigious titles.
Considered The Oscars of gaming, The Game Awards is the biggest award show of the year.
The public can vote in every category, but a jury still has the final say on who wins each award.
That is except for the Players’ Voice award, which is decided entirely by the public’s votes.
We are now entering the second round of voting, and twenty games have already been eliminated, leaving us with a top 10.
A number of this year’s most popular games have already been eliminated, including Game of the Year nominees Astro Bot and Balatro.
More in The Game Awards
Other popular series and ongoing games like Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, Fortnite, and The Legend of Zelda Echoes of Wisdom are also out of the voting.
If you’re interested in which games have been eliminated from the first round, you can find the full list of Players’ Voice nominees here.
Ongoing games make up half of the top 10, with Genshin Impact, Wuthering Waves, Zenless Zone Zero, Palworld and Helldivers 2 all hitting the top.
The other half are single-player titles like Black Myth: Wukong, Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, Metaphor: ReFantazio, Stellar Blade and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.
Players can vote for five out of the 10 games in this round, and the final round of votes becomes available on Monday, December 9, 2024.
This round will likely have five games, and players can vote for only their favourite.
The winner will be revealed at The Game Awards, which will take place on Thursday, December 12, 2024.
