Fortnite OG is coming back very soon – and it’s here to stay
FORTNITE has been a massive gaming phenomenon for more than seven years now, and the battle royale game has seen more than 30 seasons since launch.
The game’s map is constantly changing, adding new content each season, but many players feel nostalgic about Fortnite’s early days.
Fortnite OG, a mode that brings the game back to its original state at launch, is returning to Fortnite on December 6, 2024.
Unlike last year’s Season OG, which ran for just a month, Fortnite’s ultra-popular nostalgic mode is now coming as a new permanent feature of the game.
Epic Games took to earlier on Tuesday to announce Fortnite OG’s return, saying, “OG is coming back and is here to stay.”
The reveal comes after months of leaks and speculation about the hugely popular mode’s return.

Nostalgia is all the rage for live service games right now, with other titles also using the time machine to bring back players’ memories.
The ongoing trend started when Blizzard launched World of Warcraft Classic in 2019, and now an Overwatch Classic event is reverting the popular hero shooter to its early days.
