Sky Sports adds important new button to popular channel so viewers catch Premier League goals even faster
SKY has introduced a major change to its most popular sports channel so viewers catch the biggest moments even faster.
A new button has appeared on Sky Sports Main Event that cuts the broadcast delay by several seconds.
Sky Glass and Sky Stream are the company's internet-enabled TV offerings which do away with a satellite dish.
One of the biggest drawbacks about all streaming is the delay for live broadcasts.
For most shows this doesn't really matter but when it comes to live sports people care a lot, as they want to find out about all-important goals as soon as possible.
Especially with the Premier League season well underway.

Sky has been working on new behind-the-scenes tech to bring the lag down by a whooping 22 seconds.
It's still not as instant as a dish but the upgrade does improve the speed, reducing the delay to about eight seconds.
But to benefit from the boost you'll need to access the right channel.
Sky Sports Main Event now has a new Live Sync button that will switch to the quicker broadcast.

Alternatively, viewers can go to 921 for HD and 922 for UHD to access the reduced delay.
Or, just ask for "Sky Sports Main Event Live Sync" using the Sky remote's microphone.
Sky will eventually make the low latency feed the default on Sky Sports Main Event so you don't have to switch.
For now, you have to opt-in manually as the firm tests everything is running smoothly.
Sky plans to roll out the tech to other channels in the future so there's as little gap as possible.
"We aim to provide our customers with the best possible experience," a Sky spokesperson said.
"To achieve this, we’re committed to implementing robust testing measures before scaling up, ensuring minimal disruptions to the viewing experience."
