Xbox slips back into old habits with another deeply disappointing month for Game Pass players

JUST as we were about to give Xbox the benefit of the doubt concerning Xbox Game Pass releases, it’s gone back to its old bad habits.

After Xbox announced a huge price rise to Xbox Game Pass and the change from Game Pass for Console to Game Pass Standard, the quality of Game Pass games began to dip.

Instead of the six to 12 games that were added to the service each fortnight, there were just two or three.

Worse than this most of the games were day-one releases, meaning that they aren’t available for Game Pass Standard users.

However, there has been improvement over the past few updates, and the last drop included eight new games, three of which were for Standard subscribers.

We were hopeful that a corner had been turned and that Xbox would go back to adding a large number of games going forward.

It seems this is not the case, as the first half of November includes just three new games and they are only for Ultimate and PC subscribers.

There are three new releases that will be added, and the biggest release is the long-awaited new entry to the Microsoft Flight Simulator series.

This is a landmark entry for the series as it has significantly decreased the download size of the world-sized game.

Goat Simulator Remastered is another new release, and is an upgraded version of the quirky fan-favourite.

You play as a goat in an open world where you are free to explore and discover its secrets.

The final game this month is Metal Slug Tactics, a turn-based game based on the Metal Slug series.

Here are the games coming to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC this month.

• November 7
  • Goat Simulator Remastered – Cloud, Xbox Series X|S & PC *Ultimate & PC only
• November 19
  • Microsoft Flight Simulator – Cloud, Xbox Series X|S & PC *Ultimate & PC only

Since the change to Standard around 40 games were removed from subscribers’ libraries.

Alongside the new entries, Xbox has announced that three games that were available on Xbox Game Pass for Console, are returning to Standard subscribers libraries.

Here are the three games returning to Xbox Game Pass Standard.

• November 6
  • Harold Halibut – Xbox Series X|S
  • The Rewinder – Console
  • Turnip Boy Robs a Bank – Console
