iPhone 16 buttons

Apple is making some changes to the button setup on iPhone 16 and that includes a whole new button too.

Called Camera Control, the button is designed to take you instantly to the camera app so you can snap or shoot video quicker than ever.

Rather than poking out, the button is indented so its flush with the surface - and looks a bit like a fingerprint reader button seen on Android devices.

The button is also the gateway to Apple's Visual Intelligence features.

This lets users scan anything around them to receive extra information and useful details.

For example, if you hold it up to a restaurant the tool will come up with reviews and menus available online.

However, the Camera Control isn't the only button change.

Apple has also revamped the Action Button so you can make it open anything of your choosing.

iPhone 16 battery

Everyone cares about battery life and Apple says it has made a "a huge leap" in that department.

The firm hasn't revealed the exact size of the battery on the iPhone 16 handsets but it's claimed the Pro Max model lasts four hours longer compared to last year's.

Apple claims you can get up to 33 hours of video playback out of the iPhone 16 Pro Max and up to 27 hours from the iPhone 16 Pro.

It's all thanks to an "optimized internal design" and powerful new A18 Pro chip.

Make your own emoji on iPhone

Company boss Tim Cook spoke loads about Apple Intelligence but one element of it got people talking - the ability to create your own emoji.

It's called Genmoji and all you need to do is type a description of what you want - or you can choose photos.

This will be available as part of the iOS 18 upgrade coming to older phones too.

But Apple Intelligence won't be launching immediately with iOS 18, so you'll need to wait before getting your hands on Genmoji.

iPhone 16 camera

Apple also made a fuss about its camera upgrades and got The Weeknd to shoot his new music video on the iPhone 16 Pro.

The tech is capable of shooting 4K resolution video at 120 frames per second, which music video cinematographer Eric Hendrickson said "really helped us to slow down reality".

Meanwhile, both versions of the Pro now have 5x zoom unlike last year's models.

There's also a 48-megapixel Ultra Wide camera for higher-resolution photography.
