GRAND Theft Auto 6 is one of the most anticipated games on the planet, with gamers around the world eagerly anticipating news about the upcoming game.

GTA 6 is expected to be released on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S in 2025, though developer Rockstar has a history of releasing its games a little later than expected.

Many gamers on Xbox have been wondering if the game could be featured on Xbox Game Pass upon its release, and while it wasn’t expected that it would, some fans were holding out hope.

Unfortunately for those fans the CEO of Take-Two, Rockstar’s parent company, has seemingly ruled out the inclusion of GTA 6 on Game Pass, or any other subscription service.

In an interview with GamesIndustry.biz, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick said that Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 could change consumer habits and normalise subscription services, because it will be Game Pass on day one.

Zelnick said: “I think that offering a frontline title with a premium price in a subscription service, day and date, will push consumers to that subscription service for at least a period of time.”

Despite that, Zelnick says that Take-Two won’t be changing its position on putting its games on subscription services on day one, even taking a swing at the idea.

Zelnick said: “It won’t affect our decisions, because our decisions are rational.”

GTA 6 will be the first new game in the GTA series in 12 years when it releases next year, after the release of GTA 5 and GTA Online in 2013.

The game was officially announced late last year with a release date of 2025, but GTA fans narrowed down the long-awaited game’s release date following Take-Two’s financial report.

Doubts were cast upon the game’s release date when voice actors in America’s largest acting union went on strike against game companies, leading many to believe the release could slip.

Gamers don’t have to worry, though, as GTA 6 is unlikely to be delayed due to the SAG-AFTRA strike, although actors can still choose to boycott the game if they want.
